A Singapore Florist Provides Guidelines on How to Buy Funeral Flowers

Funerals are the best way to honor your loved ones who have passed on. One of the best gifts you can give to someone who has died is by bringing flowers to their funeral. In order to make your tribute meaningful, here are some tips from a Singapore Florist on how to buy the best flowers.

Send them to the right place

As professional florists would advice you, you have to know where to send the flowers. Send the flowers to the right place. If you are not sure where to send them, get in touch with the person who is organizing the funeral and ask them for directions.

There are several places where you can send the flowers. This includes at the funeral home, at the church and at the family home of the deceased, as a condolences gift.

Include a card

Always include a card, so that the bereaved family can know who the flowers were from. Write both your first name and second name, so that there is no confusion as to who bought the flower.

Send before visiting hours

Ask your Singapore florist professional to have the flowers delivered before visiting hours. The flowers should be there before the family arrives at the funeral home. So plan your delivery well, so that it is made in time.

Choose an arrangement

There are different types of arrangement to choose from.

Casket sprays – These are usually placed on top of the coffin. They are often bought by the family members. There can be a number of them, such that they take up the whole space on top of the coffin.

Wreaths - These are usually circular in shape.

Floral arrangements - These are usually bouquets that have been made from cut flowers. The arrangements can also be placed in a floral basket or a container.

Sprays - These can be viewed from one side only

Posies- These are arrangements that are usually sent by small children

Inside sprays- These are usually small floral arrangements that are put on the inside of the casket. Most florists can make them on request.

Consider the faith of the individual

There are some religions which allow flowers at the funeral, while there are some where flowers are not allowed. Also, me types of flowers might be suitable for some occasions but not for others. For instance, arum lilies are suitable for Christian funerals.

When Is It Not Appropriate To Send Flowers   When the family requests you not to send flowers. Some families might not want to receive flowers. Instead, they may ask people to make donations to a charity of their choice instead. Respect their wishes.

Flowers are usually not allowed in Jewish and Islamic religions. Instead of sending flowers, consider sending fruit or food baskets instead.

Where to buy flowers

You can buy funeral flowers from a variety of places. This includes from your local florist, the funeral home or online.
